Siberian Kitten for Sale (on hold)

Orange tabby siberian kitten for sale

Orange tabby Siberian kitten available

(he’s on hold pending deposit as of 2/19/2011)

We have a lovely orange tabby (red tabby) Siberian kitten available.  He is a most adventurous and loving fellow.  He may look a lot like Sonja in coloring when he matures, nearly a solid red in appearance with a rich color and exceedingly rare in our breed.

His name is Pasha, though his new family may choose to call him a name they have picked out.  He is out of our P Litter born on December 22, 2010 to Sunbeam Lilyana Krasa of Pendraig and Jorrah Karat.  He is the last of a litter of five to find his home but we know they are out there, someone special for this fearless little lion in a kitten’s body.  This time most buyers were interested in silvers or girls, but Pasha is unique and beautiful though he is not above a good kiss on his tummy and a tickle before he heads off to play more with his siblings.

Rawr!! I have the heart of a lion

He is used to children too, as he is handled daily by a three year old boy who thinks he’s Sonja in miniature.

Pasha loves his raw food diet and would love to teach his new owners how to feed raw diets and enjoy the benefits their cats enjoy.  He could also go onto our Advanced or General Diets (with commercial foods) for families who could not do raw but when you see how much he enjoys it you may change your mind.

Pasha’s sire is large and his siblings from other litters have been of good size as well, especially the boys.  He is a happy fellow and will bring you many years of happiness, laughter and joy.  Are you his special home?

Pendraig Siberian Cats welcomes (N)Siberikos FeLine

Image of a brown tabby Siberian Cat from Norway and Gabriel Campbell.

(N)Siberikos FeLine of Pendraig & Gabriel Campbell

After a long flight for FeLine that spanned two days and half the globe we are overjoyed to welcome this beautiful and sweet Siberian Kitten into our home, our family and our cattery. She is everything we hoped for with beauty, grace, wonderful coat texture and promising type. She is so beautiful and sweet, sitting patiently in our toddler’s often overeager arms and building a new bond that I know will be something he remembers fondly one day.

We cannot thank Kristin Bolme of Siberikos Siberian Cats enough for this wonderful, amazing and loving cat. She is not only an important part of our family and our hearts now but a crucial part of the future of our cattery as we continue to embrace and celebrate the traditional type Siberian Cat.

It is our hope to show her here in the USA and help gain more exposure for traditional type Siberian cats in the CFA and TICA show halls. Her darling personality is an extra bonus for us that can only be the result of fantastic care by a loving breeder who puts everything she has into raising wonderful cats. Thank you, Kristin. We love her with all of our hearts. Gabriel is especially happy as you can see here in these photos we took today.

Feline’s flight was blessedly uneventful, as far as we know, and her flight arrived on time to Houston.  We had an easy time getting her final paperwork finished and going to the U.S. Customs office to get their approval.  After all of that was done we were able to pick her up.  All in all it took about an hour but we had to travel from here to Houston (3.5 hr drive) and she had to sit in her crate for that as well but she was so sweet and patient.  I am sure she was happy to get a rest in her new room that night and after a quick snuggle by me and my son we let her have her blanket and toys her breeder sent with her.  She ate most of her food and settled right in.  I am always amazed at how well cats take such long travel.  I know if it was me I’d be a little worse for wear. =)

If you are ever considering importing a cat from another country be sure to look up the laws and regulations so that it goes smoothly.  Some countries have special requirements.  When we send Pendraig Nimue Emrys of Siberikos to Norway soon she will have her own journey to undertake but we know she will have the best home, and most loving care with Kristin.

Thank you, FeLine for coming to live with us and all you endured to get here.  We love you! =)

Bright and gloriously golden in life

Pendraig’s Debut Golden Siberian Cat Litter – Due soon!

We are so excited to announce that Esenia Auric is due in a matter of days with Pendraig Siberian Cat’s Debut Golden Siberian Cat litter. This goal has been a dream for so long it is hard to believe it is actually upon us but of course there is still the waiting, the worry that we feel for every mother that is bringing new life into this world and the uncertainty of what types of kittens we will have.

What we have come to expect from the sire of the litter, however, is strong, vibrant, robust kittens with loving personalities and beautiful type. Esenia Auric has these very qualities as well and it is a promising match. For those of you following our progress these years you will appreciate the investment of time, money, love and energy we have put into making the dream of a Golden Siberian Cat program at Pendraig a reality.

This color is truly unique and unlike anything I have ever seen in cats. Though I appreciate the many beautiful shades these cats come in, including the primal and original beauty of the brown (black) tabby cat the Golden and the red have special places in my heart.

Now we are nearly there and I feel like a child at Christmas!

Please keep our girl Esenia Auric in your thoughts and prayers, as well as her kicking and squirming kittens that await their entry into this world. For those few lucky families that will be getting one of these kittens for their very own we hope you will enjoy them as much as we will.

Gemma’s Siberian Kittens – names

We have settled on the names for Gemma’s brood! It was a lot easier than for Lily’s which I am still deciding on.

Pendraig Naoise – the lovely brown classic male will remain a part of our program but will leave with his delightful co-owner here in Austin. We look forward to showing him with her and next year hopefully he will contribute to the breeding program. His name, Naoise is from Irish mythology. Naoise was a warrior that defied his king when he fell in love with the tragically beautiful Dierdre. He eloped with her and they had to go into exile as they king’s wrath was great and he wanted Dierdre back and Naoise killed. Eventually the king got his way and Dierdre died of grief. It is a romantic tail and Naoise was supposed to be quite handsome which makes this name perfect for our handsome brown classic boy. It is pronounced “NEE-sha”.

Pendraig Nuada – the big and bold red mackerel boy will be going to a loving pet home. He is of outstanding quality but we cannot keep them all unfortunately. His name is that of an Irish god and it means “protector” in Gaelic.

Pendraig Nimue Emrys of Siberikos - this gorgeous girl will be named for the sorceress Nimue that enchanted Merlin and took his powers. She is an enchantress in her own right so the name is perfect. It is pronounced “NIM-oo-ay”. If she should turn out to be golden she will have our surname of Emrys which all of our golden cats will carry. She will be going to our friends in Norway, Siberikos and where we have high hopes of her success.

Look back for when we update the photos with new ones this week.

Siberian kittens in a riot of color!

Pendraig Siberian Kittens - Three Calicos

As promised here are some photos *and* a video!  We have another video to upload though it’s no more exciting.  As the kittens get older and move around more we should have some great fun then.

We are thrilled with the overall size and health of the litter.  We are also seeing some nice coats and of course the striking colors are just wonderful.  We hope this little girls will have the great type of their sire but the bigger size of their dam.  We’d love to see one or two of these girls shown in CFA or TICA but likely it will only the kitten we keep.  Show homes are difficult to find in these difficult economic times.

First here is the YouTube video.  Sonja, the grandmother of the litter is also there.  She had to be part of the scene.  Also the strange background noise is our son, Gabriel, making strange noises that kind of sounding like the kittens mewing but on the video sound smore like a Yorkie.

And now for some photos! Here is one of the more striking color combinations. She looks like a tortie and white, almost a van pattern but I suspect she’s really a smoke and the red isn’t showing well yet. You can also call her a calico.

We are not sure yet of any show or breeding quality though I do have my eye on one that I think will be the keeper for us from this litter. Zoya is being retired to a wonderful pet home so this is her only litter. This is also Aslan’s last litter before he was retired so these kittens are very special.

We will update with more photos and of course we also have a photo album created on Facebook in the Siberian Cats Page.

We hope you enjoy these as much as we do and we look forward to meeting the new families that will join the Pendraig Siberian Cat family!

We do have some reservations on this litter. However, some of these kittens may be available please contact us for more information.

Be sure to catch us on Twitter ( http://www.Twitter.com/siberians ) and on Facebook. We’d love to meet you.
